Incidents of note:
The only incident of note this month would have to be the large scale Police operation at Glasgow Prestwick Airport for the arrival and departure of approximately 9000 Spanish football fans who were here for the UEFA Cup Football Final at Hampden Park, Glasgow. The operation passed without any problems and very little disruption to normal airport business.

South Ayrshire Council

Cllr Helen Moonie informed the meeting about the Consultation on Housing Policy. There is a shortage of affordable housing, under the threshold, in the Prestwick area which needs to be looked at. This includes housing for the 1st time buyer, young people, families and divorcees.

Cllr Hunter talked about the change in structure within the Council, with being a minority cabinet. This could however work really well. Scrutiny groups will look into all services etc.

The New Scottish Government have said there will be no Council Tax increase for the coming year!!!!!

The next meeting of the community council will be held on 26th June 2007 at Monkton & Prestwick North Parish Church Hall starting at 1900 hrs. We welcome and encourage the public to attend all our meetings.
