At the Prestwick North Community Council meeting held on Tuesday the 27th March 2007, the community councillors discussed various issues of interest within their boundaries.
Community Councils to be given more clout – and CASH.
Conservative Councillors are bringing forward proposals to boost communities across South Ayrshire, by boosting the money available to community councils to help promote ‘Civic Pride’ projects in their areas.
Under the proposals, the money allocated to each community council will vary according to the size of the community represented, but the minimum will be £2000 for the smallest. This money will be in addition to the administration budget already received and will not be subject to the same constraints.
The proposal will come before the Policy and Resources Committee on 4th April and if approved, each community council will be advised of their allocation shortly afterwards.

Remembrance Service
As South Ayrshire Council seem unwilling to pay for the hire of the band for this service, it was suggested that both Prestwick community councils organise a Car Boot Sale to raise the money for this. More on this at the next meeting.
