At the Prestwick North Community Council monthly meeting held on Tuesday the 26TH June 2007, the community councillors discussed various issues of interest within their boundaries.

Police Report

Police Constable Colin McBeth submitted the following report to the meeting:
Crimes committed during the period 30th May 2007 – 26th June 2007.
A total of 103 crimes reports were raised for the Prestwick area, of which 75 resulted in reports being sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

Incidents of note:
In the early hours of 15th May 2007 two males were arrested whilst committing a theft by housebreaking at a local store. Further enquiries resulted in one of the males being charged with several other thefts throughout the Ayrshire area.
On 22nd May 2007 a 15 year old male was charged with being in possession of an offensive weapon, namely a crow bar, in Links Road, Prestwick.

South Ayrshire Council Report

Cllr Stan Fisher has been busy speaking to a number of Public House owners in the Main Street regarding cigarette ends outside their premises. Already there has been a vast improvement noted.
Additional bins have now been provided on the esplanade, however there is still insufficient for the area.
A number of issues were raised regarding parking. The council have stated that there will be a review on parking throughout Prestwick in the very near future.

A complaint has been received regarding the positioning of a black notice board and Life buoy at the seafront. The Coastguard will be contacted on this matter.

The next meeting of the community council will be held on 25th September 2007 at Monkton & Prestwick North Parish Church Hall starting at 1900 hrs. We welcome and encourage the public to attend all our meetings.
