FAQ

What is the Community Planning Partnership?

The South Ayrshire Community Planning Partnership was set up in 2001. It tries to improve the quality of life in South Ayrshire by bringing together the Council and the other providers of public services, such as the National Health Service, with private business and community organisations, such as the Association of Community Councils and the Council for Voluntary Organisations in Kyle and Carrick.

What is Community Plan?

A Community Plan is intended to provide a framework for all the organisations involved in providing services to the people in South Ayrshire, so that they can work together to improve the way in which these services are planned and delivered. In that way they can make better use of public money.

However, it is also about involving residents and community groups in the setting of priorities and in helping to deliver them. So the Partnership is interested in hearing your views on what changes and initiatives can make a positive difference to the quality of people''s lives in South Ayrshire.

How will I be involved in the future?

Now that the Partnership has set out its priorities in the Community Plan, we wish to involve you in the delivery of the Plan''s objectives. To do this, we have set up a group to look at how we can best continue consulting with you regularly. In some areas, which are the focus of our work on urban regeneration, we have already set up neighbourhood management groups, combining local authority staff and residents, to plan local investment programmes and service standards. We are considering how we may extend this approach. We also intend to run on our website some surveys and straw polls on local issues.
